Inspired by the movie Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, I'm starting a 15-day Juice Cleanse, the Reboot Standard Program: 5 days of juicing/eating fruits and veggies, then 5 days of only juicing, then 5 days of juicing/eating again.
The main goal is to reduce my high blood-pressure and get me off prescription meds. A bonus would be gradual weight-loss to help regulate the blood-pressure for good.
I'm blogging for accountability. Anyone who knows me knows that I have zero willpower when it comes to food (!) so I'm blogging as a way to keep myself accountable to do this daily. If you're doing this too, I'd love to hear from you! If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Here goes!! :)
DAY 1/15: THE JUICER.
I really wanted to pick up the Breville Juice Fountain Plus ($149) since I’m on a budget and it seemed like a great Breville juicer, and one of the least expensive. Unfortunately, it’s sold out EVERYWHERE and also backordered online. Even then, I don’t have the patience to wait a week for it to arrive since I mentally prepared myself to start juicing today.
After looking around online reviews, I found that this $49 GE juicer at Wal Mart had a lot of great reviews. And the fact that it was inexpensive and available… well I picked it up.
Sure, it’s plastic (not metal) so it may not last forever like the more expensive Brevilles, but it supposedly does the job well. It’s 800 watts and can fit a whole apple, and easy to clean. Plus, I bought the $3 extended warranty for 3 years in case it dies. Worth a shot.
About to make lunch with it, and will report back!
Breville Juicer, the reviews were good...price was out the door! Knowing
