New Fave Recipe.
Since nectarines are so yummy and available right now, I decided to try a new lunch recipe today, and IT WAS DELICIOUS. My new fave:
4 stems rainbow swiss chard
2 (ripe) yellow nectarines, large
1 basket of strawberries
1 sprig of fresh mint
Splash of agave nectar

DAY 4/5: CHANGE TO REBOOT EXPRESS
Decided that I’m not ready for a 15-day fast, and I’m changing my program to the Reboot Express Program— a 5 day juicing/eating of vegetables and fruits. I’ve pretty much juiced the entire 4 days so far, so I’m proud :)

Tips: Watermelon and Coconut Water
My new favorite thing to juice. Sweet and in-season, makes lots of juice, and tastes yum. Just gotta be careful though, if you have a powerful juicer. It’s so soft for the powerful motor, that you need someone to really hold onto the juicer or it’ll shift and spill out of your cup.

DAY 4: Thoughts so far.
Here’s what my thought process has pretty much been, daily:
DAY 1: Obsessing over finding a juicer! Found it! Let’s do it! Never bought so many veggies and fruits in my life. This tastes weird. Wait, it’s actually not bad. OK, I can do this. Lunch was a shot of energy! Buzzing! Then crash!
DAY 2: Random headaches. Delirium. Fell asleep at computer. Laying on the ground...

Made it through day 3, surprisingly. I’ve been SO hungry, and having a meeting in Panera didn’t help either. But, I made it so far. I honestly don’t think I can do a full 15 days, but I’m going to shoot for at least 6 to get through the detox portion. 6 days is better...

DAY 3/15: TREAT
My afternoon snack. A fricking amazing treat/reward for my progress so far! Like dessert, basically. This one’s DELISH compared to the green juices! I made it up. “IF ONLY YOU WERE A MOJITO”

DAY 3/15: REPLENISHING AT THE FARMERS' MARKET
Stopped by the Wednesday Farmers’ Market and got a bunch of fresh stuff! Could’ve used an old lady cart or a second person with me though. I managed to get all this stuff and haul it back to the parking garage, in sweat. Workout for the day.
Spent $40 at the Farmers’ Market and $15 at the grocery store for stuff they didn’t have (or that I couldn’t haul in one...
Got 'em juiced.
Gave the GE juicer to Desmond’s parents. They visited and watched the movie, and they wanna juice! Also nice to hear from my dad that he owns a Breville and juices carrots. He’s proud of us and he’s motivated to juice more often, adding greens :)

Day 2/15: Thoughts so far.
I’m pretty hungry. I actually can’t stop thinking about a hot meal. Not necessarily craving junk food or anything; shoot, even grilled salmon over brown rice sounds drool-worthy right now. Anything HOT and SOLID. God help me.

NEW JUICER: Got super lucky and found a Breville in stock at my local Best Buy! They had ONE left, and it wasn’t the model I wanted, but still a Breville, so I bought it. It’s the Breville Juice Fountain Compact for $99.
